At the beach…

Gilli Bloomers_the ocean

Hi icon ArcheoButerflies

eelooooo everybody! I hope you have been busy creating those amazing projects! Oh don’t tell me you only have been looking at your “pile” of goodies you just had delivered? LOL No that is a sin! You must try to make a little time and give your brain a brake! Create time is reenergizing time…works for me like a day at the beach…Since I cannot get to the beach…..I bring it to me! At least Gilli seems to be a beach girl since way back in the day!

Oh today I totally rebelled…forgot the floors, the pile of laundry to fold..I resisted to …never mind. LOL I attended to all musts and urgent things and then I sat and createdGilli Bloomers_the ocean~. I finally manage to use my ShinHan markers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY some of these markers have been on my table for not less then four months…yes people f.o.u.r. months. I was almost crying LOL. I wanted to play with it before, but since my collection still very tiny (I might be adding some more soon) I had to be very wise choosing image..I knew I would have to finish some of the work with my regular alcohol markers..but I wanted use the Shin for the main part of my coloring. I did it!!!

For this project I used ShinHan Markers, plus a few copics to color Gilli bloomers. Things you should know about the Shins…here come very good news. Shin markers blends beautifully with copics. Second, some of the Shin colors are really really beautiful. I am IN LOVE with the deep navy…Oh I have been dying to reach this color for while..and boy I was a happy camper..LOL Of course IGilli Bloomers_the ocean d will still have to practice my coloring since I still have much to learn. Practice and practice!

Another thing I was able to play with was my distress ink pads to create a background. I used not one but two pads from the “Spring 2012” and “Summer 2012” sets. I told you I rebelled LOL (very rare moment LOL). Luv the brightness of these distress inks…I want to dive in!!! As you can see I punched all the way LOL. I used not one but four different punches (Martha Stewart and EK) plus two different die cuts (Memory box and MFT). All cuts distressed with distress inks to create a vintage lacy frame. All the pretty little pearls were made using liquid pearls and Want to scrap pearls. Ribbons from Martha’s line. There! I made time and I created! LOL

Thank you guys for dropping by to look around! I am always so happy to hear from you!anaRy-handwri So what you have been up to? Have you been following the new releases from CHA SUMMER in Chicago? Winking smile

Gilli Classy_Back to School

Hi icon ArcheoButerflies

ello there! I know we are in the heat of the vacay season, but the stores are filling up with the school supplies! So I got inspired by all those fresh new notebooks and made a little project! Works for your proud student or to greet the brand new teacher!

Get in the groove with the Back to school vibe and join us for House of Gilli Blog!

Let go through this project.

I used Gilli classy and colored her using copic markers. Originally classic does not have hair showing…well very little. I simple doodled a few waves to create the back part of herGilli Classy_Back to School f hair.  Since she is a very fashionable teacher..she is of using her Jackie set inspired in sweet polka dots. Of course the yellow screams brand new pencils! YAY!

I went nutty and created the little embellish that you see..very easy to do. The blackboard, pencils, the calligraphy tab and also the essential numbered pennants. I am trying to add a handcrafted item to my projects…like back to basis style LOL. Takes time but it is so much fun!

Gilli Classy_Back to School~The cute papers used in this projects are from My minds Eyes and also Recollection.

I hope you enjoyed this new project. I hope you got the bug to pull out some cute stuff and start creating some sweet mementos for this brand new school year!!! Oh and don’t forget to join us over House of Gilli Challenge!!

Super duper hugs…see you soon with another brand new project!!

Hi icon ArcheoButerflies

ey there! Keeping your creativity in high gear this summer? I hope so…although I know it could be hard having so many sweet activities to do outdoors : ). Well everything has its time…and I am sure you will make into your space and come up with some unique designs! Sometimes I day dream designs…lol I am dead serious..that is why I will scribble and doodle on napkins…supermarket receipt…anything I can record what just popped in my head…otherwise…poof LOL Gone. I had a Sociology teacher in college that gave me tip for life…always keep a note pad and a pen nearby…granted we got some technology that fills that but hey batteries run out! LOl Old fashion still king in my book!

Gilli Stroll See ya

See ya! That is what I will say when I finally manage to have some down time.. LOL ( Do I really want down time…humm no. LOL No seriously I don’t LOL). Gilli is super ready to hop up into a car and drive out! I colored Gilli Stroll with copic markers…yeap not paper piecing. The patterns you see here on her chic bag and her blouse was created with marker (you can do to! Don’t be afraid!). The delicious dp paper is from First Edition…(yeah remember I told you it was luv when I saw them at CHA?lol).

I created the little lace frame using 3 different Ek punches. I think it is very nice to have these very simple and delicate pattern punches around…I wonder if they will come out with more of these delicate ones this upcoming CHA…Hey EK I am here and would love to test drive…Heck any company LOL I am a born mad scientist LOL. Seriously ring me! LOL.

Gilli Stroll See ya aTo create the illusion of a twine frame around the spellbinder where Gilli was stamped I distressed the edges and added the details with a white pen. Real twine you can find over the ribbon details : ). The cute detail behind the spellbinder is die cut (Poppy dies). The little bag I created from scratch using cuts of a circle paper punch. the handles is a little piece of twine and the closure a nice pearl made with liquid pearl.

I hope you enjoyed this little project. Now how about get out there and make some new friends? Come on over and join us over The greeting card challenge at The Outlawz! Lots of inspiration tips and chats! If you are really in a vacation mode…hop by House of Gilli challenge blog…the girls have a ton of inspiration for you..and as always a little surprise for you : )

S - Hi Icon Spring

OOOO it is summer all right! Blazing hot everywhere…so what one to do? Grab the markers and let the imagination run loose! Hello everyone! This week I am trying to get my stuff together and getting some work done. For the longest time I have been tired of my blog headder..lol, Finally I worked on a little something that might make me happy for a few months LOL…yes, I can get that bored with something LOL. What one to do with all these colors around? Use them!

I am on a roll and you will laugh hard when you see the material list used in this new project. Now seriously we need an intervention..lol It would be so much easier to go to Hallmark..right? NO..lol No fun! I am all about diggin’ and divin’ into supplies. Literally say “Hey this is nice!” when you get to the bottom of it…(NOW whatever “it” maybe be..a shoe box..pile..a basket…yeah I know you are smiling…I saw what you did last summer! LOL). Gilli Painter_smile

Anyway…I would love to share with you a project I made for July’s Oozak’s challenge blog! This month we are brightening things up…This is the time to leave the pastels behind and do not be shy!!! Pull out those bright colors!

For this project I colored Gilli Painter using copic markers (my list will come at the end ok?). I went bold all the way! Hello I am here~ LOL. The Lilly Bee design papers were a perfect fit for my choice colors for this projects..the patterns are so delicate that they allow me to be playful. After layering my dps….I added…GUESS WHAT? Another CRAZE of mine…Washi tapes. These babies are soooo handy! I wanted to add a little extra layer without taking from the paper and the other elements I had planned for this card. The washi tape from We R gave me an opportunity to inject color right where I wanted….just a touch!

Gilli Painter_smile~

All the fun swirls added to this project are Poppy, memory box and MFT dies. Gosh I think I have 1001 one ideas to use these things LOL. I actually added Glitter Dust to these dies…and I will say I like the results (working on a little review for ya. This is a brand new product for me and this is my first whirl at it). Since I am talking having fun…and make you smile I went crazy and added little pearls (liquid pearls) in a whimsical pattern over my cuts.

To top it all….twine bows..now who is not nuts about it? I am..raising my hand high..I don’t think there is such a thing “too many colors one can own” LOL. I told you I went for it! LOL. But wait there is more!!! The sentiment…SMASH fabric tabs ( aha..they are not only for scrapbooking!!). Luv it. They come cut trimmed you just write and bam! SMASH it LOL. Ta dah! Project done!

So how about you? “Wanna” go for it and come play with us? We will be waiting for you over Oozak’s challenge blog!! We got a new DT in RustyLand!!! Yeah!!!

huggies,
